Reinhold Brinkmann – professor of musicology at Harvard University with particular interests in Wagner, Eisler and Schoenberg. He studied at Freiburg University (1967) and taught at the Free University of Berlin (1967-1971) and the University of Marburg (1972). He was chairman of the Institut für neue Musik und Musikerziehung in Darmstadt (1976). His dissertation was on Schoenberg's Op. 11. He has published articles on Schoenberg, and worked as an editor for Schoenberg's Sämtliche Werke (Mainz: B. Schotts Söhne, 1966-).
