Four Pieces for Mixed Chorus, op. 27

As long as we are on this earth we see
The moon in its neverending fairy-tale splendour.
Just like water quietly following the river’s course
It pursues its unwavering orbit every night.
We never see it falter on its way
Nor can we witness any small step back.
In contrast, we, confused mankind: unsteady
And restless is everything, everything we think or do.
